Do You Remember?The expression she wore
the tears in her eyes
the desperation in her voice
when we found out he died.
The memories rushed in
the floodgates were opened
no matter how we tried
we could not close them.
The words that we said
the faces we saw
contorting with sadness.
The nightmare that started
did not want to end
then we realized...
It was reality.
None The smell of the charred flesh slowly invades my nostrils and I smile. I remember the screams from the inhabitants of this home that seemed to last forever. I do not care, I love fire, the way it devours anything and everything in its way. Its only enemy, water, had come to kill this monster but it was too late my "pet", as I like to refer to the fire, had already done the damage I had intended when I unleashed it.
The last time I had unleashed my "pet" was because I wanted to see a building burn. This time though there was something more, I knew the people who lived here. My every move had been calculated down to the last second and everything had happened as planned. I would never have to hear the laughter ringing in my ears from these people, never had to see the stares people would give me because they thought I was a freak. I had taken

As I drive down the road my mind starts to wander, the thoughts of a person who is now gone. I can't help that they come to me at that time and the road ends up going out of focus, a little blurry even. I know I should pull the car over but as the memory invades my mind like a conquering army I can't. Nothing seems to matter at that moment except for my thoughts.
Then just as quickly as they came they are gone again. I know they will be back soon. It doesn't matter I will just go on with my life letting them haunt me for eternity if I must.
